The Philadelphia R.E.F.O.R.M. Compact and Agenda

ReformBallot.org
I thought you would like to know about a new cutting edge effort to help reform Philadelphia's government and increase participation in the May 15th election. It's called reformballot.org and it's sponsored by some of the leading reform groups in the City.

It's an experiment in online democracy and deliberation - because once you sign the R.E.F.O.R.M Compact then you can help set a new agenda for making Philadelphia's government better.

This is a first time technology has been used this way but that's in keeping with Philadelphia's history. Just imagine if the Internet had been around when the framers were writing the Constitution.

Here's how it works; from now until March 30th, using the same technology as WikiPedia, anyone can offer their ideas for how to fix Philadelphia's government or comment on what someone else has written.

Then next month we'll vote on the list to determine the top agenda items. Then candidates will be asked to respond to the list and we'll learn how they respond to the agenda items.

It's a cool site; there are videos about the R.E.F.O.R.M issues and there's also cool google map showing what part of the city people who support reform are from.

Check it out now. http://reformballot.org
